 SILIA KWA YESU
As, I stared at the phrase, I saw that the acronym was SKY. I loved the idea of The SKY Mission because it seemed to fit in with all the words that I was looking up to translate. Words that came to mind were: rise up, lifted, carried, fly, freedom, etc. All of these, at least to me, bring up imagery of the sky. I know Jesus’ heart for the orphans is to lift them up and carry them in His arms. He loves them and He seeks to free them from their oppression so they can soar. These children will rise up and be a generation that follows the Lord and changes Kenya. He has a special plan and purpose for them and the sky really is the limit.
Another thing about the word sky is that the African sky holds a beauty like no other. I believe that these children need to know they are beautiful, worthy, valuable, etc. As the beauty of the sky captivates us and moves us, the beauty of these children captivates me and moves me. I hope and pray that they begin to know they are as radiant as the African sky and that they hold onto that knowledge the rest of their days.
